why i am blogging again

I have decided to blog again because:

-Breton and Daphne are both teenagers and are not as dependent on me...so several times I have been left twiddling my thumbs because they are busy and I don't know what to do... I can only clean and cook so much.  I need my "stuff" so it's my hobby and sometimes might be my therapy (Dear Diary...)

-I am a writer.  I enjoy writing.  I can explain myself with my written words better than I can verbally. Have you heard me tell a story??  The written version is so much better!

-it makes me happy

-now that I am not doing it in hopes of earning $$ I can do whatever i want to do!  I took off the counter of how many page views I got because now the stats don't matter:)

-maybe what I am writing will help someone else

-In the end it's a photo album/scrapbook/journal of my life for me, my children, my family, my grandkids to look back on.  With cyberspace I think it will be around for a very very long time.

It's Back!!!!!!!

Need a summer photo of this nest (Add it to the To Do List!)

This is why I am blogging again:

A Robyn in a relationship, caring for her two darling blue eggs. I try to maintain the Nest as a cozy commemorative place for our adventures, our struggles, our highlights and even some of the lows. Speckled within, there will be some shout outs, a favourite recipe, lots of photos and a chuckle or two. In the end, I LOVE my blog because it is a collage of our memories. Whether a few visit the Nest or many, the Nest will be here. Welcome.

why I haven't...

  • Social media changes all the time and I can't keep up...I don't know how to add badges, to code, if I am on the best blogging site, what should I add or get rid of etc etc etc

  • It is like having another job.  I can spend an entire day blogging if I wanted to.  This would let me schedule blogs to be posted in the future, in the end freeing up time but for a hobby sometimes it feels like a job.  A job that doesn't pay...

  • I originally started the blog hoping it would lead to "work", so far I got a $50 gift card and a chance to promote a Yummy Mummy Club (YMC) event which earned me some $ and an adventure with Paul. Read about the event here here and here

  • I have not always been in the right "mood" or felt "up" for blogging

  • My iphone SE doesn't allow the Blogger app to be downloaded so, anytime anywhere blogging can not occur, a lot of emailing photos to myself then using old phone, chromebook or laptop to do my blogging = time consuming:(

  • From this post...He contacted me, not Tim W, but the other guy from this post...kinda freaked me out a bit.  I won't publish his response because he doesn't require anymore attention.  I don't want my grade four memory tarnished even more.

  • You stop living in the moment.  I catch myself trying to get a photo so I can use it in my blog and the whole time I am in a moment I am thinking about how I am going to blog about it.

  • People use the blog and social media to "keep in touch" but it ends up being one sided. I don't know they are reading my blog but they do know what I am doing I just don't know what they are doing.  I am happy somebody is reading it...

  • That leads to another reason: I didn't think anyone was reading it. With less than 10 followers not always sure if anyone is clicking social media links.  And I also have to remember that I am doing this as kinda a memory montage for all of us, so i should not care if others are reading.... (but I do)

These are the reasons I have not blogged in awhile...

but I am back!!!

Our song

We are writing a love song...a rock n roll love song?! :)

Verse...you might try to break me..watch me bend to test my love ..you will find you won't succeed..i will love you till the end...
..Verse 2..She was beautiful and doesn't know it...

If I had my life to live over again, I would find you sooner so that I could love you longer

...no matter what she wears she is the most incredible jewel...when i gave her my heart...i gave her my love....

I may stumble, i may fall..but you will always be there to pick me up...i will reach out if you lend me your hand....i will stand and never give up

The incident Breton & Daphne and I will never speak of again!

So I blogged last weekend about our adventure to Parc Omega,

but there was an incident when we arrived…

Let’s just say we went home with one less water bottle.  It is in the garbage at Parc Omega.

Everyday I have a tea.  That day I had two teas prior to leaving.

Can you guess where this is going?  Those of you who know me well probably already knowJ

Word of warning about the new HWY 50, the closer you get to the Parc Omega exit there are less places to pick up snax, stretch your legs or to pee.

I had to pee.

I had to pee badly!!!

I thought I could hold it until we got the Parc.

We turned the corner to go into the Parc and there was a LINE UP!!! Curse Groupon and there deals and the mild weather!

I was dying!!

I have had many experiences where I have had to pee badly while travelling but I have always made it to a washroom or at least a building I could go behind…ok and there once was a run into the cornfield.   Anyways this time I saw nowhere to go!

So I peed in the water bottle!!!!!

My children and I have agreed not to talk about it ever again.  Well that is what I remind them of each time they bring it up.  I honestly thought I had scarred them for life, as I looked back at Daphne in the backseat as her eyes are covered because she can’t believe I am doing what I did.

But I am happy to say B & D are fine and I believe that our great time at the Parc outweighed my full bladder issues.

That is the power of the Parc!!!

I heart Parc Omega!

Pink

I am wearing pink, thinking pink, dreaming in pink, all in an effort to raise funds for CIBC Run For The Cure.  This is the 15+ year that I have done it all in honour of my Mom.  Our Team is Sue's Crew.

No Match Made

So as you can see from the info below the title, Robyn's Nest, I have re-focused my blog (scroll up).  So since today is Sunday, it is Dear Diary Day.  We will see how this new schedule goes and may have to tweak it:) I will be creating a new blog for Breton and Daphne, more of a scrapbook style, so they can see photos of our adventures and activities.  I will post links to this new blog occasionally, so you have the option to see our family photos and at times I will use some of the photos in this blog.  Thank you for reading and hopefully sharing with others.

Dear Diary

This week I met with my therapist.  I made the appt after a day where I felt like I was spiraling...

She made me really think about my goals, and on that day I hadn't thought beyond that day.

She pointed out to me how fast I have done everything: getting a lawyer, organizing the mediator, the divorce, establishing MY house, talking to his new girlfriend... She asked me why am I jumping into dating again so fast?  It has been 8mths since the separation, 3mths since the finalization of the divorce.  I have dated but did not know really what I wanted.  With the Match.com, I even sabatoged a potential "match".  Too much information too fast.

So for now, I am withdrawing my profile from the website and we will see, slowly, if I meet someone the "old fashion way".
