My New Favourite

As I have mentioned before, I freeze my bags of spinach if I can't use them before they expire.  I throw some leaves in a smoothie or use them in a pasta sauce but this is my new favourite: spinach pesto!

Spinach Pesto

2 cups of spinach (fresh or my frozen stuff)
1/2 cup of walnuts
1/2 cup ( or more) Parmesan cheese
2 cloves of garlic
2 tbsp of olive oil

Blend it all in the food processor.  Mix with freshly cooked pasta. Or it can be stored in a jar for a week.  Do top off jar with more olive oil to keep the spinach from turning brown.

Bon appetite:)

Farewell Lulu:(

Previously I blogged about my addiction to Lululemon.

Well recently I sold some of my Lulu...

I took eight Lulu items to Rikochet Resale on Strandherd Rd. They accepted five items.  They had a promotion going on for Lululemon clothing, where it was a 60/40 split in which I earned 60% of the sale!  Normally it is the opposite, 40/60 split, you would earn 40% of the sale.

You register with the store then you get a card to scan to keep track of your sales.  I went back a week later and I earned $63 with the sale of three items.

They are very selective but do have a lot of nice name brand items.

Definitely some competition for Act 2, the other consignment shop in Barrhaven on Fallowfield Rd.

What I am not wearing!

So last weekend Breton had a hockey game at the Nepean Sportsplex.  He has to be there a half hour before the game so that left Daphne and I with a little time on our hands.  We checked out the cat show.

Um interesting group.  And the cats too were quite unique.  Unusual breeds, one that looked like a leopard and the grey and white striped one you see on the Whiskas commercial. Also the freaky fur less breeds.

What I won't wear is a cat sweater, cat earrings or a cat necklace, all seen at the cat show:)

Even a few crazie Cat Ladies.

I love our Vanilla but I am not extreme.

I love that after six years together Ruby and Vanilla are best buddies and they even cuddle together now.

Breton asked us if we saw Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys at the cat show:

We didn't but I think we saw his Mom, Aunt, sister and cousin.

Can you see me now?

So I continue to work on my boudoir.  I have the walls painted yet no wallpaper up yet:(. It is chosen, with a little help from my ladies, but haven't purchased it...waiting for a sale!

As I was prepping my room to be painted I took down all the curtains and have been living with no window coverings all summer. One, this means a lot of light gets in. This I don't mind at all. Two, it gets getting dressed or undressed interesting, as I have houses right behind me. At night or at 6:00AM, with the light on in my room who knows what the neighbours have seen!  Usually I dress in the dark:)

This past weekend I did something about it.  I still want the light and openness with no window coverings but I don't like being on display if I forget to turn out the lights so I Modge Podged my windows.
We painted on the Modge Podged...

Then we used Saran Wrap to create an effect.  Just laid it on top of the Modge Podge anyway (the more wrinkles the better), peeled it of and then let the Podge dry.

This is the final effect:

RANDOM Robyn!!!!!!!

So I have not really consistently blogged in quite awhile... All I can say is that LIFE got in the way.

So here goes to start back:

My kids are the greatest.  Why you ask? Because one day I came home from work and they had mowed the lawn(Daphne) and Breton had done the trim work. Such a great surprise! Breton has mowed the lawn every week all season long.  I tell him he doesn't have to but yet every week he does.  This weekend he helped me put the garden to bed.
Found this in the garden:

Weird eh?!
A fake heart.
Most likely fell off of someone's Halloween costume.

Speaking of Halloween, I realized this year was the first time I went Trick Or Treating with my kids. Well one of my kids, Daphne.  Breton stayed home and handed out candy.
Trick or Treating was something their Dad always did with them and I always handed out the candy.  Daphne and I had fun.  It was a great night.  We both dressed up as cowgirls this year. Interesting fact about Daphne and Halloween: she refuses to dress up as anything "bad" for Halloween. In the past she has been the Toothfairy, an angel twice, Tinkerbell, Snow White, a cow and next year she plans to be a hippie.

We did this, this past Sunday:
It was at the strawberry patch at Richmond Rd and Fallowfield, to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis, you could launch your pumpkin with a giant sling shot at targets or they would supply the pumpkins with a donation.  It was fun to watch but cold.  Will go back next year.

That's all for now!😀
