Confession

So I have a confession to make:

I quit ballet.

Yup for the second time in my life I have quit ballet.  No I did not get in trouble for not having my hair up nor was it when the teacher asked me if it was my first time to class.  It was my third class (I did have a two week break but as I said before I was really bad).

It was when she asked who would like to do a recital.  And 2 out of the 5 students said YES!

HUH?  I am a forty year old woman I do not need to get up on stage and perform a routine for family and friends!  We would wear matching outfits and perform in the year end recital.  Oh we didn't even get to what the outfits would be or whether we would be posing for a group and individual photos, which seem to be part of the dance world's customs.

I signed up to get a different workout experience, to really challenge myself and to cross it off my Bucklist.  The instructor said the class was going to go from a workout to practicing a routine ( and not even a ballet routine but a more contemporary one)!

I left that night never to return.
My ballet slippers are shelved but will be worn  to dance again! Whether it is in my room to the music in my head or throughout the house while the radio plays.

This dancing requires no recital:)

Point pliƩ leap
I am outta here.

I don't read anymore:(

Well unless you count my friends' Facebook posts or the comments they leave on my posts.
I haven't read a newspaper (not even the little local one B use to deliver) or a book ( unless you count the storybooks I read to my class).
I realized this recently strolling through Chapters with a friend, that I have not read a novel from cover to cover in probably over a year !!
Kinda sad.
I use to read to help me fall asleep but now I will pop in my earphones and put on a show and fall asleep to it on the iPad.
It is not even that I do not have any books.  I have a couple stacks on my bedside table...
Summer plans: read lots of books

Taking recommendations now:)

The Ski Bunny Is Back!!

As part of our March Break adventures the kids and I decided to hit the hills.  Well at least Mt Pakenham.  Breton and Daphne both took ski lessons there through their school ski club.  It was Breton's second year skiing and Daphne's first.  We met up with my friend Miss Jen and her son Brodie.

I had not skied in over twenty years !!!

We had a BLAST!!!!
For some reason I can not post our videos on here so you will have to check them out on Facebook:)

New Pancakes

As a child my Dad had this "secret" pancake recipe and we would have pancakes at least once every weekend, usually Sunday.  These pancakes were whole wheat and the best part was they were nice and thin when cooked.

I am not a fan of big fluffy and thick pancakes.  Until I recently discovered this recipe Thursday night.

I made a batch and have been eating...uh...one or two everyday...as dessert:). They area thicker pancake but full of flavour.  Come on there is cinnamon and Greek vanilla yogurt in them.

So good!!!

Unfortunately I did not have real maple syrup to eat them with, but they were still good with the fake stuff.

Play it again and again and again

Play It Again Sports has been our go to spot for hockey equipment, skate sharpening and trading in any sports stuff for a credit.
I have some soccer cleats that will be traded in soon so i can get some new piece of hockey attire for Breton or put it towards these knee high colourful socks I look at every time I go in but never purchase cuz really do I need another pair of sox...
Oh but they are cute and colourful and soft...
Look for them on what I am wearing;)
Maybe
Anyways I just wanted to do a shoot out to Play It Again for the great service and thank the boys there for the occasional free ice skate sharpening;)
Great place if you are on a budget and your kid grows fast!  Don't all 12 yr olds grow fast?
