Amen!  I have noticed this too over the past 20+ years working with children but I think with more posts like this one on parenting, there is a happy medium coming (and when everyone stops getting a medal in sports: just the winners plz:)

Free 5K

Today Daphne and I are doing a 5K run.  At the Agricultural Museum, the first Saturday of every month from April to November, there is a timed 5K run.  You can register online or when you get there.  You can also go online afterwards and record your time.  www.runottawa.ca

A bonus after the race... they sometimes giveaway free t-shirts from other races (Race weekend) and books.  They also do draws for sports socks and ball caps.
